The Catholic Textbook Project recently announced its 2023 history essay contest, which is open to all students in Grades 4-12 in Catholic schools – parochial, private and homeschool.The deadline for submission is March 31, 2023.
“We hope teachers and parents will incorporate this essay contest into their lesson plans 
and encourage their students to participate,” says the company’s founder Michael Van Hecke, M.Ed.
Awards include student cash prices of $100 or more, school gift certificates of $400 for schools, free history textbooks of their choice for homeschoolers, and publication of all winning essays on the Catholic Textbook Project social media.,
Essay topics vary by grade (click here for full rules, details, and topics). Winners will be announced in May.
