The Wild Goose (a moniker for the Holy Spirit during a time of persecution in the Middle Ages) is indeed moving across the U.S.—quietly igniting burning flames of Divine Love in individual hearts in surprising ways — as the four routes of the National Eucharistic Pilgrimage weave their way across the country. Renewed devotion to the Divine Mystery and Power of Jesus hidden under the guise of bread in the Holy Eucharist, conversions, curiosity and wonder… even exercise!
The astounding thing to me is that it’s so under-the-radar.
For example, in my parish and those of many other I know, there’s not a peep about it. Our wonderful bishop and the diocese is doing its part, but not in many parishes. It’s so strange! You’d never know that we’re in the midst of an historic, three-year national Eucharistic revival in the U.S., thanks to the bishops’ decision to launch it in order to revive Catholics’ understanding that Our Lord IS truly present — body, blood, soul and divinity — in the Holy Eucharist.
Jesus Himself comes to meet us in every possible way, even more ways than we recognize or can imagine, yet none so powerful as the Eucharist.
Typical daily news today seems filled with violence, wars, rumors of wars and increasing chaos in the streets…
Yet the Wild Goose is moving in Divine ways, one city at a time… Plus, next year 2025 has been declared the Jubilee of Hope by Pope Francis. How will you and I respond in our DAILY lives and actions — our choices — at home, at work, in living life at all levels? How do WE individually choose to respond to this personal invitation to get to know Our Lord much more intimately?
